Dear Parents,

As we begin to prepare for the beginning of spring and its beautiful weather with it comes spring testing, spring student teacher conferences and spring sports. We will again have some important information to share with you during the week of spring conference on March 19 and 20th. Spring testing includes WELPA, MAPS, MSP, and SUPERA. Below are the descriptions of each of the assessments.

Spring testing includes:
WELPA
(Washington English Language Proficiency Assessment)
February 4– March 15
SUPERA March 4-22
MAPS (Measure Of Academic Progress) April 8– May 6
MSP (Measurement of Student Progress) April 24– May 31
8thgrade students will be meeting with High School counselors to transition to 9thgrade this coming month of March. High school counselors will be at Ochoa Middle School talking to our students on March 26, 2013 regarding this transition. Our students are scheduled to visit with High school staff on the following two days:

Chiawana High School
March 25, 2013 6 p.m.

Pasco High School
March 28, 2013 6 p.m

Spring sports are scheduled to start in March. The sports schedule for baseball, softball, and tennis will be available with your athlete or you may pick up a schedule in the front office.  Please come out and support our athletes.
I invite you to come out and have lunch with your child any day you are off. If you want to volunteer do not hesitate to call the school at 543-6742. We welcome your assistance in the classroom and at the school.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Ramirez.
