Announcements

On Saturday, April 20th, The Mark Twain Chess Club traveled to Vancouver, WA to compete in the Washington Elementary State Chess Championship. Twain placed 18th of 160 schools in the 4th-6th grade category, a good enough placement to bring home a team trophy! The team standing reflected the strength of four players who each scored 3 out of 5 points and earned individual trophies. In the K-3 division, Twain's four participants were good enough to finish in the top half of schools, at 60th out of 140.

The final tournament of the year will be held at Twain on May 11th. The Pride of Pasco tournament is exclusively for Pasco students, and features a special section for beginning players looking for their first tournament experience.

Schedule

Chess club will meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:15-8:55am. The last meeting of the year will be on Thursday, May 16th.
