Longfellow Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that spring is here and we are down to our last few months of school for this year. We have had a very successful year so far watching so many of our students grow academically and socially. We are excited to see their achievements between now and the end of the year. Thank you to all of our parents and families for their participation in parent teacher conferences and our ATP events and meetings!
Many parents were able to attend our MSP awards assembly where our number of students making gains and receiving medals once again increased. This was very exciting and emotional for many parents and teachers to celebrate the gains and academic achievements that so many of our students have made. Go Longhorns!!! MOOOOOO!!!!
We want to give a big “Thank You” to our PEAK Partner, Pasco Kiwanis! Many of the Kiwanis members have come to Longfellow and talked with our students about their professions and what they do. This has resulted in great conversations and sparked many students’ interests and curiosity.
Another big “Thank You” to our PEAK Partner, Miguel Miranda Real Estate! They donated bikes that we gave away to students who participated in our reading program.
We have a very busy spring full of more testing. Please pay attention to the days your children will be testing. It is important that they are getting to bed in good time and eating a good dinner and breakfast before they test. A detailed schedule on when your child will be taking the MSP will go home with your child on May 1st , look for the blue paper. If you have any questions please call the school office.
Other dates to remember:
· MSP Pep assembly will be April 26th at 2:15 pm
· April 27th Dia de Los Ninos at Memorial Park from 11:00-3:00-come visit the Longfellow booth
· No School Monday May 27 for Memorial Day
Thank you for sharing your children with us! It is our honor and pleasure to watch them learn and grow each and every day.
Sincerely,
Diana Cissne
