In 1890 at the cornerstone laying ceremony Andrew Carnegie said “It is probably that this hall will intertwine itself with the history of our country.” The prediction came true and since it’s opening in 1891 Carnegie Hall in New York city has played host to statesmen, musicians, artists, festivals, and world premieres all shaping the American landscape.
