What are Asynchronous Apps?
Asynchronous Apps are an essential component of the Pasco School District CORE 4. A means by which teachers and students can record and share videos with each other, for viewing at a later time and as often as needed. For example, teachers may choose to record an asynchronous video of a demonstration or lesson and share this video with students to prepare for an upcoming assignment. Teachers may also ask students to record a video demonstrating their knowledge of a particular skill.
Screencast-o-matic is the recording app teachers will use primarily for the creation of engaging instructional videos for you and your children to access at any time, as many times as you need! Pause, rewind, fast forward, and increasing/decreasing the audio speed, are all features for which you can tailor your viewing experience! Your child's teacher will create these videos and link them to your child's class Homebase (TEAMS).
FlipGrid and Microsoft Stream are video recording apps as well, and can be used by students to communicate with their teachers! Check out the table below for examples of how these apps may be used and the benefits of each!
