• Virtual Learning Options 2021-22

Pasco School District is excited to offer three virtual learning opportunities for students for the 2021-22 school year:

Pasco Parent Partnership

  • The Pasco Parent Partnership (P³) program is a partnership with the parent and the school district. Although parents will be empowered to facilitate learning activities at home, all instruction in ALE (Alternative Learning Experience) is planned and supervised by certificated Pasco teachers working with the program, and is documented in the individual's Washington Student Learning Plan.

Parents can select district adopted curriculum from K-12 Fuel Education or preview the BookShark pilot materials for the K-5 students. Parents and students will also have access to district approved supplemental materials that can be used at home. The P³ program offers workshops and enrichment activities throughout the year. Weekly check-ins are required to ensure adequate academic progress and a monthly Parent-Teacher meeting addresses learning needs and supports.

PIXeL

  • Harnessing the power of 21st-century technology to make learning come alive, Pasco School District’s PIXeL (Pasco Innovative Experiences and e-Learning) Academy empowers K-8 students who thrive in an online platform of instruction. Students will engage in coursework mirroring what students in a face-to-face classroom will learn in English language arts, math, science, social studies and social emotional learning, all done through the virtual world with their teacher.

iPAL

  • iPAL (Internet Pasco Academy of Learning) offers an online curriculum utilizing Edgenuity's K-12 or OdysseyWare as a state approved provider. Teachers work with students in Zoom during daily office hours. As a part of ALE (Alternative Learning Experience) Law, students are required to check in with teachers once a week, and their student learning plan is visited monthly. Students who are able to work independently are most successful as the content can be challenging.

K-5 iPAL teachers offer student workshops with a focus on concepts they are teaching. These workshops are offered in small groups on site and are optional. There is a reservation needed.

Virtual NHHS

  • We meet academic standards while addressing students' social-emotional learning needs. In addition, we are preparing students for their future by building college and career skills. This is achieved by utilizing innovative teaching practices in a fully digital learning environment. We empower students to establish their own learning pace to complete high school required coursework and meet state requirements. We provide a supportive learning environment including daily contact with teachers in a virtual learning platform. Challenges are supported through providing strategies and emotional support for all students in our program. Creativity is encouraged through a variety of learning options. We strive to meet each individual student’s needs and ensure they are college and career ready.

If you would like to enroll your student in this program, please contact your home high school counselor. If you are new to Pasco School District please complete the registration process and indicate the school as New Horizons High School.
