A great resource for career exploration is Career Planner, located in your Grad Planner (High School & Beyond) App in MyApps on your PSD laptop. Once in the app, enter into the Career Planner section to take career interest surveys, research potential careers and training programs, or create a resume in your portfolio.

Northwest Laborers Training Apprenticeship
The apprenticeship program in the State of Washington consists of 6000 hours of on-the-job training and 480 hours of supplemental classroom training. Wages begin at 60% of Journeyman scale, for a first-year apprentice with no experience, and your wages will increase with each increment of 1000 hours of on-the-job training and 80 hours of supplemental classroom training. Upon completion of your apprenticeship training, typically in about 3 to 4 years, you will achieve the rank of Journeyman Laborer and be earning an awesome wage.

CITC Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program
With an apprenticeship through Construction Industry Training Council of Washington (CITC), you will receive formal classroom training without the cost of tuition, and you won’t have to wait until you’ve graduated to begin your career. You will have the opportunity to work with first-class employers to receive paid on-the-job training while under the direct supervision of experienced journey-level workers. With this combination training, you learn the “how” and “why” of your trade by applying what you learn in the classroom to the real world.

Our facilities offer hands-on training, but like any great organization, our greatest asset is our people. Our full-time staff has more than 200 years of sheet metal experience and 40 years of teaching experience.
