Internet Safety Resources

At Pasco School District, we understand the importance of internet and social media safety for our students. We are committed to providing parents and guardians with the tools and information they need to navigate the digital world and keep their children safe.

Keeping Students Safe Online with School-Issued Devices

At Pasco School District, student safety online is a top priority. We implement a range of measures to ensure a secure digital learning environment:

  • Advanced Content Filtering: Pasco School District utilizes Linewize, one of the most modern and robust content filtering systems available. Linewize categorizes websites and content in real time, allowing us to block broad categories such as Adult Themes, Gambling, Pornography, social media, Chat, and more. Additionally, Safe Search is enforced on all browsers to further restrict access to inappropriate content.
  • Classroom Management Tools: Secondary teachers have access to Classwize, a powerful classroom management tool that provides visibility and control over student device activity during lessons.
  • Secure Educational Platforms: Students engage with learning materials through secure, vetted educational platforms that meet stringent privacy and safety standards.
  • Digital Citizenship Training: We equip students with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online through regular lessons on digital citizenship. These lessons focus on responsible technology use, recognizing online risks, and avoiding unsafe behaviors.
  • Clear Policies and Enforcement: Our Acceptable Use Policy and Student Handbook clearly outline expectations for the safe and responsible use of school-issued devices. Any violations are addressed promptly to maintain a secure and productive learning environment. View full details in our Technology and Electronic Resources Policy.

If a student encounters inappropriate content on a school-issued device, they should immediately report it to a trusted adult, such as a teacher or school administrator.
