18 Pasco Students Awarded $79,000 in HAAP Scholarships

Pasco School District is proud to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of 18 students from Pasco High School and Chiawana High School who were awarded a combined $79,000 in scholarships through the 2025 Hispanic Academic Achievers Program (HAAP).

Each year, HAAP recognizes Latino students across the region for their academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to higher education. This year’s recipients from Pasco stand out not only for their achievements in the classroom, but also for their commitment to making a difference in their communities.

Among the awards, two students received special recognition thanks to the generous support of Fiesta Foods, which sponsored two $10,000 scholarships. Congratulations to Ashlee Guadalupe Senda of Chiawana High School and Yutzil Ortiz of Pasco High School for receiving these prestigious honors.

“This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, resilience, and determination our students bring to their education every day,” said Superintendent Michelle Whitney. “We are incredibly proud of these scholars and grateful to HAAP and our community partners like Fiesta Foods for investing in their futures.”

The district joins in celebrating the entire 2025 HAAP scholarship class and looks forward to the bright futures that await these inspiring student leaders.
