McLoughlin Middle School Teacher Honored with Classroom Makeover Award

Pasco School District is proud to announce that Samantha Briggs, an 8th-grade math teacher at McLoughlin Middle School, has been named the NBC Right Now WaFd Bank Classroom Makeover Teacher.

Ms. Briggs received a $300 grant to enhance her classroom environment, continuing her efforts to create a supportive, engaging, and student-centered space where all learners can thrive.

At just 27 years old, Ms. Briggs has already achieved a remarkable level of professional success. She holds a master’s degree and has earned national certification—demonstrating a deep commitment to her craft and to the success of her students. But beyond her credentials, it is Ms. Briggs’ compassion, leadership, and consistent presence in students’ lives that truly distinguish her.

In addition to her work in the classroom, Ms. Briggs actively supports the school community by volunteering at sporting events, clubs, and after-school activities. Her dedication helps create a positive and inclusive school culture where students feel safe, supported, and motivated.

“Ms. Briggs is a role model for both her students and fellow educators,” said McLoughlin staff. “Her students trust and respect her, and it shows in the way they thrive in her classroom.”
