Washington State Department of Commerce Invests in Energy Efficiency Upgrades for Pasco Schools
The Washington State Department of Commerce has made a significant investment in Pasco School District, awarding nearly $2 million in Clean Buildings grant funding to support critical energy efficiency upgrades across the district.
Commerce Director Joe Nguyễn recently visited the District to highlight this major investment, which will allow the district to implement key improvements aimed at enhancing sustainability, reducing energy costs, and improving learning environments for students and staff.
Planned Upgrades Include:
• Installation of 24 heat pumps to improve heating and cooling efficiency
• HVAC system upgrades at Pasco High School
• Energy optimization across more than 20 district buildings
These enhancements are part of a long-term energy management plan designed to improve sustainability and ensure Pasco’s school facilities operate efficiently for years to come. The upgrades will not only reduce energy consumption but also support a healthier and more comfortable learning environment for students.
We are grateful for this investment in student well-being, sustainability, and responsible energy use. By prioritizing energy efficiency, PSD is taking proactive steps to create cost-effective, environmentally responsible school buildings that benefit the entire community.
