9340 - Asset Preservation Program Policy
SCHOOL FACILITIES
Asset Preservation ProgramAs a condition precedent of receiving state financial assistance for modernization of facilities, the district is required to implement an asset preservation program (APP). In order to secure such funding, the board of directors hereby establishes an asset preservation program. The purpose of the program is to ensure performance accountability, promote student health and safety by maintaining and operating buildings to their design capacity, maintain an encouraging learning environment, and extend building life to minimize future capital needs.
The Superintendent or designee shall develop procedures that provide for a program to maintain the district physical plant and grounds by way of a continuous program of repair, maintenance and reconditioning. Budget recommendations shall be made each year to meet these needs and any such needs arising from an emergency. The program shall include building condition evaluations which will be reported to the board of directors as required by state regulations.
