Four Year College/Universities

Applying and Getting In

If you aspire to attend a four-year university in Washington state, you must apply for admission. Some important factors influencing admission include:

  • Application deadlines
  • The application fee
  • High school curriculum required
  • Application supplements required
  • Class ranking
  • High school GPA (or college GPA if taking Running Start)
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Letters of recommendations

Transfer Pathways

You can take various paths to a certificate, associate degree or a bachelor's degree. A large percentage of those who enter a four-year university as freshmen graduate from that institution. Others may enroll at one four-year university and then transfer to another. And still others start at a community college and transfer to a four-year university.
