New High School Boundary Process
Pasco School District is excited to be building two new high schools, which were approved in our recent bond to help alleviate overcrowding in Pasco Schools.
Final Boundary Announcement (June 11, 2024)
On Tuesday, June 11, Jake Stueckle, Director of Secondary Instructional Systems, presented three boundary scenarios (A, D, and F) to the board, explaining how they align with the district's guiding principles. He also highlighted the district's extensive community engagement efforts to gather feedback throughout the boundary feedback cycle.
Mr. Stueckle addressed questions from the May 28th board meeting, including current and projected free and reduced lunch student percentages for all of Pasco’s middle and high schools. He discussed the number of students in accelerated pathways at Chiawana and Pasco High Schools, projections under each boundary scenario, and considerations for program implementation. Additionally, he explained the potential transportation impacts under each scenario.
After a thorough discussion, the Board approved boundary scenario D as the new boundaries for Chiawana, Pasco, and Sageview High Schools. This change will be effective for the 2025-2026 school year.
