Special Education Services
Welcome to the Pasco School District Special Education Department
Vision Statement Empowering diverse and unique students to recognize and reach their highest potential.
Mission Statement
Through collaborative partnerships with students, staff, parents and community we will provide experiences that support individual academic, social and emotional growth of all students in a safe and positive environment. Trained and dedicated staff will foster self-confidence and self-advocacy among our diverse student population to empower them to be a contributing member of their community.
The IDEA is a federal special education law that entitles eligible students with disabilities a free, appropriate, public education (FAPE) to receive specially designed instruction and at no charge to the parent. Special education is provided as a service to students along a continuum of settings, beginning in the general education classroom with a student’s peers. Considerations may also include a full continuum of settings based on the unique needs of a student’s disability.
