Teacher Residency Program in Special Education

We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking opportunity in collaboration with the Washington Education Association (WEA) and Pasco Association of Educators (PAE) – the Teacher Residency Program for obtaining a fully licensed special education teacher endorsement.

Whether you're a current employee in Pasco School District, a community member, or someone with a bachelor's degree but not a teaching certificate, if you aspire to become a Special Education Teacher, this program is designed for you. We're excited to offer up to four paid residencies to individuals selected by WEA/PAE/PSD to complete this year-long program.

To kick off this initiative, the district is inviting interested participants to an information night. This event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the program, its benefits, and the application process. If you have any interest or know someone who might, we encourage you to attend!

The date that identifies the 25-26 cohort application timeline has now closed. Stay tuned for information coming for the 26-27 school year next fall.

Key Information:

  • Eligibility: Applicants must already possess a Bachelor's degree in any field.

  • Application Deadline: April 12, 2024

You can also find more details about the program and applying online by visiting the WEA website. Additionally, if you have any specific questions or need further information, please contact admissions@washingtonea.org.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the field of education and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students. We look forward to your potential involvement and encourage you to explore this incredible journey toward becoming a licensed Special Education Teacher.
