Spring Sports Season Starts Thursday, March 12

Baseball, Softball Boys Tennis, Girls Tennis, Boys Track, Girls Track

    Athletes and Parents

I know many of us are wishing we were in the middle of Baseball and Softball games and Track and Tennis meets but due to the school sites being closed we have had to step away from being active in a team atmosphere.

But there are still things that we can and should be doing as athletes to stay physical, which will help us mentally going through this time of social distancing and "staying home to stay safe".

Our Ochoa coaches will be reaching out to the Athletes on Teams this week to talk about ways to stay in shape, set some goals, and how a day to day structure can help with your academics.  We know that when students are involved in activities they are successful in academics and that is what we want to model for Ochoa Athletes.

We have been and will continue having an Athlete Check In (short survey in your email) very Friday through the Ochoa Athletic Office.

As always if you have any questions please ask and we will support you the best we can during these times.
    Thank you

    Dear Parents & Students

We are excited to be starting the 2019-2020 school year and having your 7th or 8th grader with us.   My name is Carolynn Jones and I am the Athletic Director for Ellen Ochoa MS.  I have been involved with athletics at Ochoa for the last 17 years, first as a volleyball coach and the last three years as Athletic Director.  I enjoy seeing the players develop in their time with us as a Rocket Athlete and then moving on to become either a Bulldog or Riverhawk athlete.

Ochoa MS is a part of the Tri-City Middle School Activities Association and have teams that compete in Pasco, Kennewick, Richland, Hermiston and Walla Walla.

I hope all students participate in a sport sometime during their time with us.  As a member of the Ochoa athletic family, we expect our student-athletes to strive for success in the classroom as well as on the athletic field or court.  We support the core principles of middle level sportsmanship program: honor, sportsmanship, courage, respect, and citizenship with WIAA. Please take time to review the PSD Student-Athlete Handbook with your athlete.
