• Parent Involvement:

    We are firm believers that it does take the whole village to raise the child. The staff at Ruth Livingston strongly believes that the education of your child depends on powerful partnerships involving the parents, the students and the teachers. We cannot do the job without you and your support. We want to sign you up to be on our team.

    One of the best ways you can be involved is by preparing your child to learn each day. Here are some ways to help:

    •  provide encouragement;
    •  read with your child;
    •  provide a space for homework;
    •  turn off the TV and Playstation;
    •  encourage a positive attitude toward school and learning;
    •  read and sign teacher communications.

    We would also like to invite you to be a part of our parent involvement team by joining the Schoolwide Planning Team or our PTO. We have an extremely active PTO that volunteers endless hours and has worked diligently to make exciting things happen at Livingston. They purchased new playground equipment for our students and have many new plans in the making.

    Our Livingston parents make it possible to have fun learning assemblies for our students such as the Pacific Science Center and Character Counts. They have sponsored Annual Spell-A-Thons and Book Fairs that have books in the hands of kids. We have many parents that come weekly to read with our students or help teachers out with various projects and field trips.

    We love and greatly appreciate our Ruth Livingston parents. Please plan on getting involved and joining the team. We need you!
