Our mission is to provide schools, students and families with information, support, and connections to community agencies and resources. Our office provides the following services:
    • Manage student discipline information, including the district’s annual report to OSPI. We answer questions from families regarding the student discipline process and schedule disciplinary appeals hearings with Hearing Officers. We publish the district’s Discipline Handbook and update the misconduct codes with input from our community stakeholders. We also provide training for district administrators and building staff.
    • Manage student enrollment and attendance information. This includes managing requests for home schooling, in-district, and out-of-district transfer requests. We also serve as the liaison with the Benton-Franklin Counties Juvenile Justice Center for the “Becca” truancy program.
    • Coordinate district compliance with the McKinney-Vento Act and support the Homeless Education Liaison for the district. We process requests for educational services for homeless students and their families and provide contacts with community resources.
    • We house the District Compliance Officer for Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB). The Compliance Officer oversees the district HIB program, including training, resources, and investigations.

If you have questions or would like more information about any of our services, please contact the Student Life Office at 509-543-6772.
