In January, 2020, 51 students qualified for DECA State at the Area conference.  Students competed in a large variety of categories such as business, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and more. Everyone gained experience in their content role play, test and presentation. 

Chiawana gained recognition for:

• Achieving the Thrive Campaign, led by Kendle Dodson
• Gold Standard Level for our School Based Enterprise - The Hawks Nest.
• Evan Ellis and Jalen Webber Students earning DECA Visionary recognition - Kendle Dodson, Marlene Diaz and Evan Ellis
• Largest chapter in Area 6
• Liz Flores was elected as the 20-21 Washington State DECA President
• 5 students advanced to DECA International's conference that was canceled, Kendle Dodson, Evan Ellis, Jalen Webber, Ariana Daniel and Victoria McConnell
