Student Board Representative Applications Open for 2023-24 School Year

The Pasco School District is looking for students interested in being a Student Board Representative for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Purpose
  1. The purpose of the student representative to the Pasco School District Board of Directors is to serve as liaison between the governing body of the school district and high school students.
  2. Up to three high school student representatives will serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors. The student representatives will provide insight and support to the Board’s understanding of student issues and perspectives.
  3. The student representatives shall represent their high schools in accordance with the following qualifications, selection procedures, and responsibilities.
Qualifications for Application
  1. The student must be in grade 11 or 12 during the term. 
  2. The student must be in proper academic standing equivalent to participation in athletics or other student activities and maintain proper academic standing throughout his or her term.
  3. The student will be expected to maintain personal standards of behavior appropriate to participation in student activities.
  4. The student must be willing to convey student opinion to the Board of Directors and report Board deliberations and actions to the student body.

El Distrito Escolar de Pasco está buscando estudiantes interesados en ser Representantes para el año escolar 2023-2024. 

Propósito  

  1. El propósito del representante estudiantil ante la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Pasco es servir de enlace entre el cuerpo directivo del distrito escolar y los estudiantes de preparatoria.

  2. Hasta tres representantes estudiantiles de la preparatoria servirán de enlace con la Junta Directiva. Los representantes de los estudiantes proporcionarán información y apoyo a la comprensión de la Junta de los problemas y perspectivas de los estudiantes. 

  1. Los representantes de los estudiantes representarán a sus escuelas preparatorias de acuerdo con las siguientes cualificaciones, procedimientos de selección y responsabilidades. 

Requisitos para la Solicitud 

  1. El estudiante debe estar en el grado 11º o 12º durante el mandato.  

  1. El estudiante debe estar en una posición académica adecuada equivalente a la participación en deportes u otras actividades estudiantiles y mantener una posición académica adecuada durante su mandato. 

  1. El estudiante deberá mantener normas personales de comportamiento apropiadas para la participación en actividades estudiantiles. 

  1. El estudiante deberá estar dispuesto a transmitir la opinión de los estudiantes la Junta Directiva y a informar de las deliberaciones y acciones del cuerpo estudiantil.

La fecha límite para la Solicitud de Representante Estudiantil 2023-24  es el viernes, 9 de junio de 2023 y las entrevistas se llevarán a cabo el 21 de junio de 2023 en persona en el Edificio Booth del Distrito Escolar de Pasco.
