Students at McLoughlin Middle School were briefly evacuated from the building this morning (4/19) because of a fire alarm.
The alarm went off at 11:53 a.m. and the Pasco Fire Department responded immediately. Firefighters determined the building was safe and there was no danger to students or staff. Students returned to the building at 12:11 p.m.
PSD maintenance crews determined the fire alarm was triggered by a change in water flow pressure in the area, due to construction work underway in the neighborhood around the school. The fire alarm system has been reset and the school has returned to normal operations.
