Pasco School District Donates Over 7,000 Pounds of Food for Local Families

Pasco School District is helping feed thousands of families in our community this holiday season.

The school district held its annual "Fill the Bus" event where we collected non-perishable food items.

On December 16th, volunteers with the district's transportation department drove five buses loaded with food over to 2nd Harvest.

The Philanthropy Manager at 2nd Harvest, Jean Tucker, told us how much of an impact this huge donation makes.

"Having the food donation today helps stock the shelves of our local food pantries and meal program so that eases the burden of families that are really trying their hardest to put food on the table right now," shared Tucker.

In total, Pasco School District donated 7,695 pounds of food. This will help provide 6,413 meals to families in our community.
