Transfer Requests

All students in Pasco School District are required to attend their approved boundary school. If your boundary school isn't the best choice for you or your student, you can apply to transfer to another school. Applications are approved or denied based on school capacity and program availability.

District Transfer Requests

If you live within Pasco School District and want to transfer your student to another school within the district that is not in the boundary you live in, please fill out a Transfer Request Form.

Request for Attendance Zone Transfer (Boundary Exemption)

The transfer form must be completed for each school year. Families will be notified whether the student has been accepted or denied enrollment at the requested school.

Out-of-District Transfer Requests

If you live within Pasco School District boundaries and want to transfer your student to a school outside PSD, please follow these steps:

Complete the Choice Transfer Request Form (Spanish) and return it to Sara Mendoza
OR Submit the Choice Transfer Request Form online.

If you live outside of PSD boundaries and want to transfer your student to a school within PSD, you must first contact the school district main office where you live (for example Kennewick School District or Richland School District) and complete that district's Choice Transfer Request Form.

You will be notified by email whether your transfer request has been accepted or denied to the new school within PSD. Transfer requests are subject to building/program space availability, and a student's academic and disciplinary standing.

If you have enrolled your child with Pasco School District and plan to home school your child, they may participate in any academic or extra-curricular activity for which they qualify in his or her attendance zone school including secondary athletics. Please contact the principal of your school to find out the schedule of the experiences you would like to choose for your child. For athletics, each student athlete must comply with applicable WIAA eligibility rules.

Home-Based Instruction Overview

Washington state law RCW 28A.225.010(4) defines instruction as home-based if it consists of planned and supervised instructional and related educational activities including curriculum and instruction in the basic skills of occupational education, science, mathematics, language, social studies, history, health, reading, writing, spelling, and the development of an appreciation of art and music.
